A good afternoon

For the very first time I managed to get away from the shop this afternoon and visit dad and mum at the Fuchsia and pelargonium Societies 25th Anniversary Show at the local school.
I took loads of photos (I got a bit carried away actually). Dad and mum won a few seconds and Karen won a couple of firsts.

It was a great show. Congratulation to everyone who entered. They were all lovely.
Think I might join and enter next year

Key Holder

At the last crop I altered a keyholder and made three books and two key rings to go inside, for the class. I think everyone had a good time.

The idea behind the project was a country garden so leaves and flowers were a must.

Sometimes you just fall in love

with a range of papers and no matter how many times you use them, they still call to you for more. This happened with Echo Parks “For The Record” range. Love them to bits.

Here are 3 layouts I made for the fortnightly classes.

P1110223

With this design you need to cut the green paper first to measure 10” x 7” and then, depending on the size of the photo you use, cut three pieces of different papers to fit as shown in the picture.

The Walk

P1110215

I loved the “Stamp Of Approval” paper in this kit but it was too easy to just decorate the page, so I cut around the stamped edge making a square in the middle, which I then turned over and stuck into place using masking tape. This gave me a red centre and a black border.

The flowers were cut from “Table Cloth” and the butterflies we stamped onto the same paper and cut out. In this way all of the pieces colour matched.

SMILE

P1110219

This was an easy layout to do because the picture was so good. Who can resist a smiling baby. Anyway this one was straight forward. The only bit which took some time to make was the square in the bottom right of the layout. For this I took the 6” x 6” blue square from “Picket Fence” and cut it into random strips. Next I stuck the pieces onto “Tuxedo Small Dot” paper (part of the new Dots and Stripes range)leaving a small gap between each strip. When finished, cut around the square leaving a small border. Use a fine pen to make panel marks on a few of the panels. The rest is simple.

Thank you for looking. xx
